Biostimulators

Helping your skin help itself

As the years go by, natural collagen production and the ability of the skin to retain moisture declines – simultaneously, our body starts consuming some of the “desired” fatty tissue in our face. The inevitable toll of time. The result is sagging, less elastic and radiant skin and the formation of wrinkles. Biostimulators offer a solution by reactivating the production of collagen and elastin and the retention of moisture, thereby also offering the opportunity to increase local volume. By injecting specific substances under the skin, we stimulate the skin’s natural regeneration process. No foreign material is added to increase volume; instead, the skin is supported in performing its natural function. At everskin, we offer, among others, the following biostimulators: PhilArt®, Profhilo®, Radiesse®, Sculptra®.

Which biostimulators exist?

Polynucleotides (e.g. in PhilArt®) are complex organic molecules obtained from fish cells and are very effective at retaining moisture and increasing elasticity and tone. Hyaluronic acid (e.g. in Profhilo®) is a natural substance that we already carry in our body and is known to retain moisture. Used as a biostimulator, it helps to better moisturise the skin, increase elasticity and reduce wrinkles. Poly-L-lactic acid (e.g. in Sculptra®) stimulates the body's own collagen production. It is ideal for treating volume loss and wrinkles, as it tightens the skin and increases its firmness. Calcium hydroxylapatite (e.g. in Radiesse®) stimulates collagen production and moisture retention. Used as a biostimulator, it is also known as a ‘skin booster’ because it makes the skin glow again.

FAQ

We don't like unanswered questions. If you can't find what you are looking for, let us know!

What are biostimulators?

Biostimulators are injectable treatments that boost collagen and elastin production and increase hydration. The skin creates new collagen and elastin fibres, helping to rejuvenate and tighten your skin for a more youthful look. Biostimulators can be combined very well with other treatments.

How do biostimulators work?

Biostimulators trigger a biological response, leading to increased collagen and elastin as well as water retention in the treated areas.

What can I expect during the biostimulation treatment?

The procedure involves a series of injections in the targeted area. It is minimally invasive, and most people experience little to no discomfort. We can apply numbing cream to enhance your comfort.

How soon will I see the results of a treatment with biostimulators?

You can expect the first results within a few weeks, as collagen production begins. Optimal results usually appear after several months, as your body continues to produce new collagen.

What are the benefits of biostimulators?

The benefits include improved skin texture, elasticity, and firmness, a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, improved hydration, as well as a more natural, youthful appearance.

How long do the results of biostimulators last?

Results typically last between 12 to 24 months, depending on the type of biostimulator used and individual factors unique to your skin.

Which areas can be treated with biostimulators?

Common areas include the face, neck, décolletage, and hands. You can discuss specific treatment areas during your consultation with your physician.

Is there any downtime after a biostimulator treatment?

There is minimal - if any - downtime with biostimulators. Some customers experience mild swelling or bruising, which typically resolves within a few days.
